Me and My Emmy: Arcane's Melinda Wunsch Dilger

Find out how this animation fan went from working on Darkwing Duck to Emmy gold.

Emmy Tally: One

How She Got the Gold: As co-executive producer of Arcane, which won Outstanding Animated Program in 2022.

Now for the Noms: Dilger won on her first nomination.

No Grinch Here: "My Emmy inspires me to keep improving my skills and reminds me to feel gratitude for the opportunities I've been given. At Christmastime I decorate it with tiny twinkling lights and the Whoville carolers standing 'heart to heart and hand in hand.'"

Ambition Achieved: "Winning an Emmy was otherworldly and something I always secretly dreamt of. However, awards season isn’t something I think about when starting a project. I’m focused on producing a great show and doing it well."

Animation Inspiration: "I started as a production assistant right out of college on Darkwing Duck, a Disney series. I've always been a giant fan of animation and was happy to find my niche on the production side. I can't imagine a better job than working with the most talented creators and artists in the world."

Team Builder: "The best part of my job is when I can bring a group of intelligent strangers together and help them grow, learn, create and call themselves a team — and ultimately a family. Hearing the gentle whir of the production engine after a few years together is the next best."
