The Television Academy's partnership with Amy Poehler's Smart Girls and Twitter on the #SmartGirlsAsk Launch at the Emmys Red Carpet at the 67th Emmy Awards has been recognized for excellence by two organizations.
At the Eighth Annual Shorty Awards, #SmartGirlsAsk Launch at the Emmys was selected as the Silver Honoree in the category Best Use of Twitter. This program generated over 16k #SmartGirlsAsks tweets and nearly 4 million impressions, and was subsequently featured in more than 40 articles in traditional and online media. The honored entry can be seen here. The Gold Honoree was McDonald's/Lovin' the Superbowl; Bronze went to Dove/#SpeakBeautiful.
Cynopsis Media's Social Good Awards selected #SmartGirlsAsk Launch at the Emmys for Honorable Mention in the category of Hash Tag Promotion. This category recognized the impact of a single hashtag to help an initiative gain steam, and saluted the most effective use of a hashtag around a social awareness initiative. Other honorees included National Geographic Society, Oprah Winfrey Network and The Social Edge/George Takei.
