An immigration story shot in Italy gets recognition at the College Television Awards.

Twenty-three-year-old Emily Dillard, a graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design, is nominated in the scripted series category in the 41st College Television Awards. She shares the nomination with former classmate Nico Rinciari.

The pair produced and wrote Our Side when they were still students, then shot it in six days in Palermo, Italy. "Our Side tells the story of Adilla who immigrates from Ghana to Italy and after an immigration law passes, it nullifies her visa and therefore her driver's license," said writer/producer Dillard.

Dillard and Rinciari are among 53 nominees who will also have the opportunity to learn from Emmy winners, creative executives, actors, and other leading industry professionals at the College Television Summit, a three-day education conference open to all media arts students nationwide. The Summit is free for students and happens March 23-25, leading up to the 41st College Television Awards ceremony on March 26.
