Join us for a candid online discussion with Showrunner Susannah Grant and Executive Producer Sarah Timberman as they share their experiences of working together on numerous projects, including the making of their limited series Unbelievable (Netflix) and their collaboration with Showrunner Taffy Brodesser-Akner on Fleishman is In Trouble (FX/Hulu). We will discuss how they worked together throughout each project and how they manage their day-to-day responsibilities over the course of a series.

SUSANNAH GRANT, Showrunner
Susannah Grant is an Academy Award-nominated writer, producer and director whose resume includes film, television and streaming platforms. Her television credits include HBO's CONFIRMATION, which earned an Emmy nomination, Netflix's UNBELIEVABLE, which was nominated for WGA, PGA, Golden Globe and Emmy Awards, and won a 2020 Peabody Award, Critics' Choice Award, the PEN America Award for Television Excellence and AFI Award. She recently served an executive producer on FLEISHMAN IS IN TROUBLE for FX and LESSONS IN CHEMISTRY for Apple TV+.
In features, her writing credits include ERIN BROCKOVICH, which earned her an Academy Award nomination, as well as THE SOLOIST, IN HER SHOES, 28 DAYS, EVER AFTER, POCAHONTAS, CHARLOTTE'S WEB and THE 5th WAVE. Grant wrote and directed the 2007 film CATCH & RELEASE and LONELY PLANET, which will be released in 2024.
SARAH TIMBERMAN, Executive Producer
Sarah Timberman recently served as Executive Producer on Taffy Brodesser-Akner's critically acclaimed limited series, FLEISHMAN IS IN TROUBLE for FX (nominated for seven Emmy Awards), as well as the Dave Andron/Michael Dinner FX limited series, JUSTIFIED: CITY PRIMEVAL, starring Timothy Olyphant. Prior to that, Timberman executive produced Netflix's UNBELIEVABLE with Showrunner Grant, which was nominated for WGA, PGA, Golden Globe and Emmy Awards, and won a 2020 Peabody Award, Critics' Choice Award and the PEN America Award for Television Excellence, as well as an AFI Award. Timberman's other recent credits include Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet's Showtime series, THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH, based on the David Bowie film and the novel by Walter Tevis; six seasons of the award-winning FX/Graham Yost series, JUSTIFIED; the long-running CBS series ELEMENTARY (created by Rob Doherty) and SEAL TEAM (created by Ben Cavell); and four seasons of the critically acclaimed and award-winning Showtime series, MASTERS OF SEX, from Showrunner Michelle Ashford. The company she founded with partner Carl Beverly, Timberman-Beverly Productions, is based at Lionsgate Television. Timberman is also a producer on the 2024 Netflix film, LONELY PLANET (Grant).
SHANA C. WATERMAN
Shana C. Waterman is a Producer of Netflix's upcoming Limited Series, A Man in Full, and Executive Producer of Netflix's upcoming series, Forever. Prior to that, she was the Creative Consultant for Universal-based One Race TV on Fast and Furious: Spy Racers (Netflix). Waterman has also worked for Fox Broadcasting Company where she served as Senior Vice President, Event Series Development & Production (24: Live Another Day, People v. OJ: American Crime Story) and as Senior Vice President of Current Programming (Family Guy, House, The Mindy Project). While at Fox, Waterman produced the company's inaugural Seizing Opportunities Forum, spurring dialogue among creative partners about shifting racial and ethnic audience demographics. In addition, she conceived and oversaw the Fox Innovators Group; an internal think tank designed to foster entrepreneurial thought and innovation among employees. Waterman sits on the Yale School of Drama Advisory Board, is a member of the Producers Guild of America and is a graduate of Yale College and Yale Law School.
