The Stories We Tell: Impact on Youth Mental Health
Now more than ever, teens and young adults need compelling, authentic stories that reflect their lives and give them hope. They are experiencing record-breaking rates of depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and suicidality, but storytelling can play a powerful role in turning the tide.
In this closed-door discussion, hosted by the Television Academy and The Jed Foundation, we will dive deep into the current state of youth mental health. We'll explore the power of storytelling to improve mental health outcomes, share plotline best practices, demonstrate how expert input can be achieved for maximum effect, and uncover unexplored storylines that will resonate with—and support—youth.
Join us in person to hear from leading mental health professionals, television showrunners and entertainment executives.
