Woody Harrelson is an American actor.

Harrelson first came to prominence in the Primetime Emmy-winning role of Woody Boyd on long-running fan favorite Cheers, in which he starred from 1985 to 1993.

Will & Grace fans enjoyed Harrelson as Nathan, the love interest to Debra Messing’s Grace Adler, on 7 episodes of the series, and as Detective Marty Hart, alongside Matthew McConaughey, on HBO's True Detective. 

Woody Harrelson also stars as Steve Schmidt in the award-winning HBO movie Game Change, which depicts the 2008 presidential campaign of John McCain and his selection of Alaska state governor Sarah Palin as his running mate.

Harrelson has appeared in a variety of movies such as White Men Can’t Jump, Natural Born Killers, Kingpin, The People vs. Larry Flynt, Zombieland, No Country for Old Men, The Hunger Games, and Edtv, in which many fans first saw him team with good friend and True Detective co-star McConaughey.
