Jerry Sanford Cohen was an American music editor in film and television.

Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Cohen received a Good Conduct Medal while serving as a sergeant E5 in the United States Army.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree at New York University, a Master of Arts at University of Southern California, and a Juris Doctorate at La Verne University Law School.

Cohen worked at Columbia Pictures, Filmation, and for 36 years at Universal Studios. At Universal, he functioned as a music editor on more than 900 projects, with over 500 television credits and more than 350 productions as part of the Special Projects Group (feature films prepared especially for network television and syndication). The latter presented him with the opportunity to work on almost every feature film made at Universal over a 40-year span.

Cohen received two Emmy nominations in the category of Outstanding Film Sound Editing for a Series for his work on Miami Vice, winning once.

Cohen died May 17, 2022, in Los Angeles, California. He was 83.
